Besides Kmart sucking for shoppers, it sucks for employees too. I worked there for 3 long years. As a cashier and as a supervisor. and the things I would have to tell customers at time just to keep my job! and all the times (as someone mentioned) they would come in for something that was in the ad and we would not have it. There are several Kmarts in our area and I can't even tell you how many times I would have customers come up and ask me to call other stores looking for something -- only to find that not one store in our area had the product that was in the ad! Which I thought was a load of BS myself. They treat their employees like crap as well. In many situations, the supervisors (which are mostly the people who work at the service desk) are told to just "use their own judgement" (which, naturally, varies from person to person) If we felt something was suspicious or chose to decline a refund for whatever reason, it was on us. and even if the customer asked to talk to a manager, s/he would just go along with whatever we had already told the customer. Now, some of the supervisors were pretty b----y and would do things just because they could. The only real "rule" we had though as far as coupons was no internet printed coupons. and that was because we had a serious issue with a group of people that were using fraudulent coupons for makeup. The few times I had customers that were upset about the policy though, after much bitching from the customer, the manager would say to just take the coupon if it would scan. and it always would.
But yes... kmart does suck. sorry I've rambled on! I do love their clearance though on kids clothes
