Portable DVD players
I'm looking for some good but not too expensive DVD players. We are driving to Florida in March and will need one for each of my dtr's to avoid the fighting while we are in the car for 12-14 hours! Anyone have one that wasn't too expensive and that they like? I'm hoping to find some deals during the holidays.

I have the Fisher Price DVD's. The beauty of these are they can be used at home as well as in the car and you can also hook them up to the TV so they can watch movies from a regular tv or at someone's home.
Downside is although it is kid proof the kids can still stick their fingers in the DVD player and break it. My DVD players still work after a year but every so often the DVD will stick to the annoyance of my kids. But I'm glad I have this model as its kept my kids quiet on road trips and at peoples homes. I'm not sure of price now but I paid just over $100 but I remember seeing them on clearance in the January sale at Target. This DVD would be good for your 3 year old but for your 11 year old it might be too babyish so maybe you can get the older one a regular DVD player. If you can afford it I recommend an itouch as you can download movies/shows on the itouch and kids can watch. Plus side is its very light to carry. Downside is its expensive and you can't play DVD's on an itouch. |

They come in pink or blue. I have one of each color. Its great if your kid wants to watch a movie and you don't want to watch it. I just set them at kitchen table with headphones and voila - peace and quiet! ![]() | |

dont get the fisher price ones. we got a two pack of dvd players for the back of the car seat or they can stand alone for about $160. it was so worth it. the picture is bigger than the fisher price ones. it has a remote. you can hook both together so they can watch the same movie

Before Office Max pulled their Black Friday ad, there was one in there for either $30 or $40. I'm sure other places will have similar deals.
I have a Magnavox from Target and it died after we used it TWICE! But since we didn't use it much and the 3rd time I got it out to use it and found it was dead was over a year after I bought it, I can't do anything about it. |
