Reminder: Do Not Trade Printable Coupons.

I want to reiterate the rules of the coupon swap forum, which apply here too. And the main one to remind y'all about: NO PRINTABLE COUPON TRADING. These are abused too often and we'd rather not have someone burned by this. If you see printable coupon trades happening, let me know, and I will delete or close. these threads.

Although I do love the printable coupons, I am pretty sure I was recently sent one that someone copied because when I tried to use it it didn't work and they store took it anyway, so I may have been part of some type of fraud and I am not very happy about it. I will no longer request printables from others. Thanks.

I don't think being copied has anything to do with them being scannable. Last night I went to use 2 different Blue Bunny coupons that I have printed from the mfc website. The one that I printed a month ago scanned fine. The one I printed this week would not scan. Was it because my printer needs cleaned or was it problem with the actual coupon itself? No idea, but they were 2 different coupons printed directly from the mfc site. Neither was copied! Thankfully, the store accepted it anyway!

I do want to add that I think it is better not trade printable coupons. The potential for abuse is too great, and if you get one that won't scan from somebody it could cause some negative feelings. I just wanted to point out that there are other reasons why a printable coupon won't scan.

I too have had problems with coupons that I myself printed, like the Gerber coupons. A lot of times they won't scan for one reason or another. I don't know if the lines of the UPC symbol aren't as thick as one's on actual coupons that you get from the Sunday paper or what but I just wanted to let everyone know that even though someone else sent you the coupon it doesn't mean that it is a fraud just because it didn't scan at the register.
