Get PAID to EAT

This week at Walgreens they have
  • Kellogg's cereal on sale 4/$10 with $5 register rewards, so it's like getting 4/$5.
  • Cheez-Its and Nutrigrain bars on sale for 4/$10 with $5 register rewards, like getting 4/$5
  • PopTarts on sale for 2/$4 with $1 register rewards, like getting 2/$3
So if you have the $10 rebate form from yesterday, you have to buy 10 products. What I'm gonna do is get four boxes of cereal, two Cheez-Its, two Nutrigrain bars, and two PopTarts. It will be a total of $13 after the register rewards. Taking off the $10 rebate, it will be $3. Then.... I have coupons for everything from the past two weeks....
  • 3 different $1/2 cereals, will hopefully get to use 2 of them for $2 off 4 boxes, depending on what kind of cereal they have
  • .50 Cheez-Its
  • $1/2 Nutrigrain bars
  • $1/2 PopTarts
Coupon total $4.50 off the $3 I'm paying after the register rewards and rebate.... they'll be paying me $1.50! Woo hoo!!

I got three different newspapers yesterday and the rebate form was only in one of them... I guess a lot of papers didn't have it. I'm not exactly sure how the register rewards works, I'm gonna have to ask when I go. I haven't done it before. And we don't have a CVS here so I can't compare. I think the register rewards are just money you use on your next purchase at Walgreens. I don't know if they put it on a giftcard or if it's on a register receipt type of paper or what.... I'll find out today though.

Walgreen's Register Rewards

Hi All! The Register Rewards program applies if you buy the specified products in their ads you will receive coupons for dollars off your next purchase. They base it on the total before coupons so here is what I did yesterday:

4 boxes Kellogg's Cereal 4 for $10 10.00
2 Cheez-Its/2 boxes Nutrigrain bars 4 for $10 10.00

-Minus 3 1.00 coupons (3.00)
-Minus Register rewards earned prior (10.00)

Total Out of Pocket 7.00

Plus, I earned $10 in register rewards for my next purchase. If you pay attention to the deals in the ad you can keep rolling your rewards each week. I am a little bummed since I forgot a $1 coupon at home so my total out of pocket should have been $6.00. I was thinking about using more coupons to take advantage of this deal but I can't justify having 8 boxes of cereal in my pantry. Now, if I can start the same cycle with CVS I think I should be able to reduce my grocery bills by A LOT (atleast this month anyway)
