Walgreens deals and (not so much) fun

I went to Walgreens a few days ago to stock up on Kellogs brand goodies for the register rewards and to qualify for the Kellog's $10 rebate.

I bought 2 boxes each of Smart Start, Fruit Loops, Cheez-Its, Nutrigrain bars and poptarts. I used 4 $1 off coupons from the paper and paid $20 even. My register rewards didn't print, and after the manager came over, he tried to tell me that they didn't print because I didn't qualify. This was after I explained to him what register rewards were.

So, he ended up issuing me a gift card for $11 instead.

Then, I went back and found a bunch of Jergens products on clearance for $2, and I also had several $2 off any Jergens body product, so I stocked up on a few nice freebies. I also had the Adidias deodorant freebie coupon which I used, and a man and easy saver coupon for Loreal Hair dye.

Up at the register again, I hand her my stack of coupons and didn't notice that she entered 0.00 for the adidias amount and somehow missed one of my $2 jergens coupons, so had to call the manager again, and get the coupons fixed. The manager at this point was really rude to me and even acted like I was lying about what coupons I used. Such a hassle for both of us, but I was a little upset that I was treated so poorly.

But, in the end, at least I got a great deal!

Sorry you had a hard time...why did you only get an $11 card and not the $20? Also what was wrong with them entering 0.00 for the adidias?

Not to answer for her, but I think that by entering 0.00 it didn't take off any money for the adidas. He would have to enter the full amount of the deoderant in order to get that money off.

I was at Walgreens last night and bought the cereal deal too and the $5 register rewards didn't print. It took a few minutes for them to confirm that Yes, I had bought the right thing, no their coupon printer didn't work, no they couldn't have a coupon machine print that coupon without punching in and complete a fake transaction. Whew ! But I got my $5 coupon in the end.

I am new to this, so sorry for this, but would someone mind explaining the register rewards thing to me? It there a list of things to buy to get money back? Where is the list? I have a walgreens around the corner and would love to take advantage of a deal if there is one to be had. (especially if it involves cheap cereal)

Went this morning to get the Kelloggs stuff etc and register rewards didn't work right. After several re-trys they got the right rewards to print off for me. Late to work though! Had the same troubles last week at the same place

They have always been super nice and apologetic and also impressed when I use my coupons (although I don't have near as many as most of you!). Otherwise I'd be quiting messing with them!

Check out their sales paper and it lists what you have to buy how much in register rewards you get back.

I am not happy with walgreens anymore myself. Everyone is mean to me because i get these deals with all my coupons... I think they think I am doing coupon fraud... even though i get my coupons from the sunday paper... and i pay 1.75 a paper and i buy 15 papers a week... but nooo i am giving the bad coupons.... grrrr

Another thing... they don't know what they are doing. I know more about the RR than they do. A RR will not work and i am like well let me add this cand bar then it will work... they are like no it will not... i MAKE them do it... had to me mean... and what do you know it worked.... i said ... I TOLD YOU SO... anyway... I am getting to where I am only going to shop at cvs because it is not worth my time if it is not fun.... I have so much stuff as it is anyway...

SO BOOO to Wal-greens... sorry... had to get that out!
