I am SO upset!!!! (if you shop @ Meijer, read)

So Meijer doubles coupons. It even says on their ads "unlimited double coupons" APPARENTLY in very, very small print it says that they will only double up to 2 of the same coupon. !!!!!!!
I'm not sure if its something new?? I've NEVER had this problem before (but I usually go to a different store than the one I went to today)
So I added it up, I lost about $30 worth of savings bc of them not doubling ALL my coupons! I am sooo upset!! $30 is $30..that's a box of diapers and a box of diaper wipes!
I still saved $70.25 in coupons alone ((a grand total of $105.64 in savings, and I only spent $86.09)
I went up to the service desk and they called the manager up. I was going to have her refund everything and then do however many seperate transactions it took to get all my doubled coupons, but she acted like she didn't know what she was doing. So I said my fair share of choice words (yeah, bad, I know, but I was steaming!) and then I threw all my stuff back in the cart and left. I will NEVER go to that Meijer store again!
I plan on emailing their corporate office too about their "UNlimited" not really being unlimited. Although, I'm sure nothing will come of it. Maybe it'll make me feel better!
Soooo if anyone else goes to Meijer, if you are using more than 2 of the same coupon and its one they'll double (less than 1.00) make sure you only use 2 per transaction. So you don't run into the same problem I had this morning!

I would have amde the casheir at the register take off everything you didn't get to use a coupon for and told them to put them all back themselves.

I would have also done the same thing. I have mad them do that before. I get what I want or they have more work to do!

i did that at target when they wouldnt take all my coupons then gave me a hard time after being in there an hour shopping and 20 minutes in line so i told them off and walked out after saying have fun taking care of my two carts full of stuff

I probably should have done that. But some of the stuff I was getting was also for my sister, who was with me. and I just didn't feel like messing with all that. I didn't get EVERYthing I wanted, I plan on going back tonight (I had 2 carts full, but it also included a 50 lb bag of dog food which is like half a cart by itself!) When I go back tonight, I will have however many transactions it takes to get allll my coupons doubled. If I didn't have 2 hungry kids with me, I would have been more persistent, but they were both hungry and getting cranky and so I just said screw it. The majority of the stuff I had was cold stuff too...so they would have had fun with that. I work at a Walmart supercenter and whenever someone changes their mind about anything cold, it gets wrote off. They won't put that stuff back on the shelf. Not sure if its the same everywhere else or not. If so, they would have taken a pretty big loss with all the stuff I had.

I have never had that problem at my Meijer. I just went yesterday and I used quite a few of the Gerber coupons that were the same and they doubled all of them. The computers are automatically set up to double manu. coupons so the cashiers aren't the ones that actually do it themselves.

One of our stores here, Homeland has that policy but thier limit is 5. I didnt know this till recently and have never had a problem using more than 5.

My Mom works for Meijer, not directly, she works as part of the Shrink Management for a company that reports directly to them and is part of the team that works only for that store. Coupons are part of what they do as well as the items within the store. She said that not every Meijer is the same, they all have different policies regarding their coupons. I guess Meijer is not owned completely by one person so each individual person or group of people that own that specific Meijer are allowed to make up their own coupon policy. She also said that it sounds a little misleading and along with talking to the CS department and Corporate you should be able to get the message across about what happened and they should change their ad since that is far from unlimited!

The only store that i have found here that doubles is giant and they will only do 1 of the same item...so it could be worse
