fyi: do you know Walmart matches prices???

Does everyone here know that Walmart will match competitor prices??
They will not match prices that are:
- for any type of outlet/discount stores, such as big/odd lots
-% off advertisements
-buy one get one free deals

But if there is an actual price in an ad (example, milk for 2.00) they'll match that.

AND you do not need to have the ad with you. (at least not in my experience as a shopper and as an employee)

I just thought I'd let everyone know. I hate being a cashier and seeing people buying stuff that I know is on sale at other places (esp if its pretty obvious they don't have much money to begin with) I just want to tell them, but of course, I'm not allowed!

Our Wal-Mart will sometimes do the Big Lots ad--I always ask first though at customer service, because sometimes they won't. It also does help to have the ads, even though their policy says you don't need them

My Walmart will price match, but only if you find an older cashier that's nice. The other ones just kinda throw their nose up in the air at you.

At ours, you DO have to have the ad and they'll only price match within 10 miles of the store.

I don't even bother to price match. I take my business elsewhere if there's a good sale going on. I've been spending a lot more of my grocery money at Kroger in recent months and I've been saving a ton more.

My Walmart will price match but only if you have the ad with you. I don't carry around all the ads every time I go to the store so I usually just go to whatever store the item is on sale at, it's just easier. Plus there are only certain cashiers that won't give you crap about doing it.
Check out my coupon website for all the coupons I have available for trade & my wish list

It is their job as a cashier to price match, so if they give you crap, call a CSM over. It is so easy to do a price match on the register, so I don't see why they would give you crap. I worked there 6 years ago and by Monday (since most sales start on Sunday) I rarely asked for an ad since I had seen most of them already. It is worth it to me to just shop at one place and price match with gas at almost $3 a gallon. I already drive almost 30 miles to go grocery shopping, so adding more miles on at that point would be silly, lol To be honest though, I can hardly price match when Wal*Mart beats most of the stores sale prices to begin with. Pop is the thing I price match most of the time. I have two more rain checks for 3 cases of Pepsi products for $11 for a local store to use though, so I don't think I'll be price matching any pop soon.

My Walmart

My Walmart will not let me use computer printed coupons!!! Does any one else's Walmart do this or has mine just decided this on their own and it's not truly their policies?

All the walmarts around here take internet printed coupons. The only store around here, that I know of, that won't take printed coupons, is Kmart, or at least the Kmart store that I worked at for a few years. They started refusing to take them after some problems with fraud coupons.
I've never had any problems using printed coupons at Walmart, Kroger & Meijer here (the main 3 places I shop).

In their policy, they state that they do take internet printed. Take a copy of this policy with you and point out that yes they do take internet printed coupons!

The following are guidelines and limits:

Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.

The thing I find hilarious is the sign they post at walmart next to items that are on sale at Kroger or other that week that says "ask for a price match". On the same sign in all caps it says: we do not honor gimmicks promotions like double coupon...Why is it a gimmick promotion ? It is a way to attract people like me to Kroger...Is it just my walmart that has those lovely signs or did any of you see this too ?
