Max Factor @ Kmart -- has anyone had problems with BOGO coupons?
So someone posted that Kmart has Max Factor makeup products BOGO this week. and used with BOGO coupons would make them free. Has anyone had any problems using them?
I had two of the BOGO coupons so I went to Kmart earlier cuz I wanted to pickup a few other things too and decided to get the makeup. I got 2 eyeshadows and 2 mascaras. I picked a line with a new cashier (I just quit there in July, so I still know who is new and who isn't, lol) Well she rang all my stuff up and went to do the coupons and it kept saying that the coupon did not match the item sold. So I told her she probably just needed to punch in 4.99 then non-food coupon. and then 6.99 for the other one. So she did it that way. I'm not sure if maybe its bc I did it all on one transaction. I didn't think it'd matter though. I know when I worked there though we would always have problems with makeup coupons, so maybe that's what it was. But just a heads up if you are planning on using yours this week. You MAY have problems. If so, just say that you used one somewhere else and they had problems and had to just punch in the amount and maybe the cashier will just do it like that for you! |

I know the coupon is for an eye product. If you were buying blush or powder it may not have worked.

I actually taught my 3 1/2 year old to say "Kmart Sucks". That's how mad I was tonight. I had 6 of these coupons to redeem and they would not accept a single one. They apparently don't take coupons with sales so I will no longer shop there. I was so livid I actually screamed "Kmart Sucks" right before I walked out the door. There is a copy of the email I sent to corporate.
I am a stay at home mom, and I spend a lot of time couponing. It is a time consuming envdeavor of collecting, sorting, watching sale ads to save the most for my family. I have used buy one get one free coupons at CVS, Walgreens, and Dillons in conjuction with buy one get one sales and never ever had a problem at any of these stores. I drive out of my way to Kmart because I saw that you had max factor on sale buy one get one one free, and I had buy one get one free coupons. Well, you would have thought I was a criminal. I was told that you that coupons say cannot be combined with other offers, so therefore they cannot take them!!!! I interpret that to mean if you have toilet paper on sale then you can't use a coupon at a Kmart!!!! I tried to explain them that other stores I shop at accept them when they have buy one get one free sales. I was very rudely asked "What do you do go around to all these stores with these coupons?" I found to be very demeaning and I have never been treated so rudely by customer service in my life. I was livid and I will never go back there. I have friends that have gotten these coupons accepted at Kmart in other parts of the country, but I have some friends that have had problems as well. Someone I know said their Kmart would only let her use one of these coupons. Well, mine wouldn't let me use any. So, lucky me my Kmart doesn't accept coupons! What a big waste of my time and gas money. Thanks for nothing Kmart |

Just so everyone knows, each KMart store gets to choose their coupon policy. They don't have a written policy for each store. So I wouldn't even try to argue coupons there, hence why I never shop there.

Besides Kmart sucking for shoppers, it sucks for employees too. I worked there for 3 long years. As a cashier and as a supervisor. and the things I would have to tell customers at time just to keep my job! and all the times (as someone mentioned) they would come in for something that was in the ad and we would not have it. There are several Kmarts in our area and I can't even tell you how many times I would have customers come up and ask me to call other stores looking for something -- only to find that not one store in our area had the product that was in the ad! Which I thought was a load of BS myself. They treat their employees like crap as well. In many situations, the supervisors (which are mostly the people who work at the service desk) are told to just "use their own judgement" (which, naturally, varies from person to person) If we felt something was suspicious or chose to decline a refund for whatever reason, it was on us. and even if the customer asked to talk to a manager, s/he would just go along with whatever we had already told the customer. Now, some of the supervisors were pretty b----y and would do things just because they could. The only real "rule" we had though as far as coupons was no internet printed coupons. and that was because we had a serious issue with a group of people that were using fraudulent coupons for makeup. The few times I had customers that were upset about the policy though, after much bitching from the customer, the manager would say to just take the coupon if it would scan. and it always would.
But yes... kmart does suck. sorry I've rambled on! I do love their clearance though on kids clothes |

I'm not a big fan of K-mart either. I can't believe they did this to you.
They would not even let me exchange diapers back in early '07 for a different size since my MIL got a size too big. So I told them I'd have to drive an HOUR yes an HOUR back to get the receipt from my MIL and come back just to exchange them. I told them this when I got back and all they did was give me this smart a$$ attitude and said "I'm sorry but it's the policy". All the while it was getting ready to storm that night with a heavy downfall of snow. Luckily we made it home in time but things like this tick me off. More the reason to shop at Target I say. I almost never have problems with coupons there. |
