Coupon Secrets

I have used coupons on and off for many years. After checking out this site I have started to really get in to making coupons work for me. I check coupons against ads. I just found out that I can stack store coupons and manufactures coupons. I'm bummed because no grocery store in my area doubles coupons. I have read that some stores will double 2 like coupons - what does this mean? Is there ever a time when you can use multiple manufactures coupons on a single item?

For you veterans out there what are some of your coupons secrets?

Thanks so much!!

Something that I have just started using that makes finding deals a lot easier is cutouthunger.org. You register on there and go to deals by state and it will list the deals as well as the coupons to use to get the deals at the stores near you. It has been a lifesaver and time saver. I used to sit down with the ads for hours but now that I use this I don't have to go over them that long. I still go over some of them just to make sure I'm not missing anything though.

I have learned to wait for the sale with my coupons. I use to use my coupons too soon and then the next week the item would be BOGO somewhere and I had already used my 2 coupons. I love to use 2 coupons when an item is already BOGO...it makes for great savings!

I definately agree with saving coupons -- using 2 coupons for bogo sales is great!
Also, if you have a bogo coupon, and the item is on sale bogo, there are places that will still let you use the bogo coupon, so you ultimately get 2 free products. (not everywhere will let you do that though)

I know I have mentioned in a post before about Meijer only doubling 2 of the same coupon. That means if say.. pizza rolls are on sale for 1.00 a box. & you have 10 coupons for .40 cents off. and you're buying 10 boxes. They'll only double 2 of the .40 cent coupons to .80 cents. you would have to do 5 seperate transactions (2 boxes per order) to get all your coupons doubled to get each box for .20 cents. Does that make sense? Its pretty dumb if you ask me.

As far as I know, nowhere will let you use 2 manufacturer coupons for the same item. but for the bogo sales, its like you are buying 2 of the same item (even though one is actually free)

The only stores we have in my area that double coupons as far as I know is Meijer & Kroger. I try to only use coupons that are $1 or more off at places that do not double.

If you haven't seen the post -- emailing companies is great and very worth the time. Whether its to compliment, complain or just to ask for coupons. I know many of us here have been getting a lot of great coupons by doing so.

My Meijer doesn't have the rule of only doubling the first 2 coupons of an item. They double all of them. I've checked my receipts before when this was mentioned a while ago and they do all of mine. Our Kroger will triple coupons up to 50 cents, which to me isn't a great deal compared to Meijer doubling them up to $1.

Thank you. I have always stayed away from coupon mom because I thought you had to pay to join her site. A lot of good info there.
