Can I get $ back for a coupon scanned wrong?

I was at Target today and I bought Ian's chicken nuggets and fish sticks, because I had a BOGO coupon. At the checkout my son was being crabby, so I couldn't watch her scan the coupons. When I got home, I noticed that the BOGO rang up as $1 off. The nuggets were $3.49 eachwhich is why I used the BOGO coupon.
I'm not sure why it would ring up as $1, but can I go back and get my money back? I paid $7 minus the $1, when it should have been $3.49. How do I prove the coupon was BOGO and not $1 off?

You're best bet is to go back today with your receipt. The manager will need to go to that checker's drawer and physically pull the coupon. I have had this happen with a FREE before. The item was valued over $5 so I was adament that I wanted either the money or my coupon back. I went the day after so they said they no longer could pull the coupon so they offered to return the item and refund my money. Well, this didn't seem right to me. Then I was going to be out both the free product as well as the coupon! I finally convinced the manager that the right thing was to let me keep the item and refund me the money. This was the Free Schick razor coupon that went around over the summer. The manager was familiar with the coupon so he believed me that I actually had had one in my hand. But it was a struggle to convince them to do the right thing. Good luck! Hopefully you'll get a nice manager.

Boy, if you try calling I would tell the operator you would like to speak straightaway with the senior team lead on duty. Otherwise they'll ping pong your call all over the place to the hourly team members who can't really help you. I really hate calling Target, they're awful with call handling.

Be sure to let us know the outcome. I really hope you get your money back. It takes a lot of work to plan our shopping trips so that we can save as much as possible. So it really stinks when something doesn't go as it should. I actually had 2 coupons (1 was a FREE) not scan at the self check out lane at my local grocery tonight and the manager gave me cash in return. I was frustrated at first, but pleased with the customer service.
