this is a wonderful program- not based on income. my family members and i have been getting this for the past year. not only do they offer the $25 box but if you purchase that then you can purchase extras they offer such as different frozen meats (including bacon wrapped fillets), or a 10pk pizza box- they vary. all food is good quality. the only draw back in my opinion is you get too much chicken. but i am still thankful for this program

One of the best deals so far...

I went and pick up my first order yesterday, we even had the chicken fajitas meal last night for dinner...This is the coolest deal so far. No hassle when I went to get my food, and very organized.

Have to Ask

My MIL was very upset to hear my husband had picked up food from this today (our first.) She says that because my huband and I are both employed and make "enough" we are "taking food from those who need it." Any thoughts?

Well, you're paying for it so you're really not doing anything wrong. But, I think it would depend on your income level. If you make enought money to support yourselves without having to worry about providing the basics for your family, then you may be taking advantage a little bit. Its a personal decision. I feel that I make too much money to consider doing this. If you're barely scraping by, there's no harm in it.

I look at it as just getting a good deal. Whats the difference in using a whole lot of coupons and getting food for considerably cheaper than many other people might?....PLus, do they have a limit? From reading the homesite, it said that they deliver as many menus to each church as paid for. thats just how I thought about, that your still paying so your just getting a discount. : )

Tell your MIL that this program is for everyone and the more people that participate the better off everyone is. The more people that buy these boxes means that the people that run the program can negotiate better prices and then everyone gets more food. That's the way it works. By participating in this program you are actually help support it.

We get this program because it is a good deal. It is never about taking food from people who need it. This is NOT some government handout! You can actually give our church anything you do not want from the box, and it is sent to a food bank. This IS for anyone and everyone! I am tired of people thinking bad about others getting deals. Sorry, I just got over reading about the issues in the Wal-Mart vent post and it is making me angry that people are making snap judgements. No one even knows anyone on here! How petty can we get!
$1 McCormick Spice, Disney Movie Codes,Ticket Stubs, or Referrals, Fresh Express Salad, Lunchables, French Fries, Thomas' English Muffins, TGIFriday's, Kid Cuisine, Cat Litter, Gravy Train or Alpo dog food, Brown N Serve Sausage, $1/1 Blue Bunny Ice Cream, Free kids meals, Nesquick, 100 calorie packs, $2 Underjams, $/1 tuna pouch or can, any breakfast frozen foods (such as Eggos or Aunt Jemima), Canned Chicken, Pardue Short Cuts, Reddi Crisp Bacon, Shredded Cheese,Tombstone or Red Baron Pizza, Stouffers, Marie Callendar's, King's Hawaiian Rolls, Peter Pan Peanut Butter, McCain's Fries Product, Chiquita Apple Bites
