http://www.angelfoodministries.com is an organization that provides food once a month to those that order. Its not only for those who are destitute but for everyone they dont care how much money you make. Even though some of us should use our better judgement. They are listed in several states if you go into there website and click on host sites you can find out if there is one located close to you
they provide you with $60-$70 worth of food for only $25 example of february menu 3lb of breaded chicken tenders 1.5 lb st louis style ribs 4lb of chicken thighs 1 lb of ground beef 2 lb of breaded chicken breast filets 10 4 oz beef burritos smoked sausage old el paso taco shells pinto beans rice corn muffin mix french fries sugar snap peas 4 way mixed veggies cereal dozen eggs 27 oz pie |

this is a wonderful program- not based on income. my family members and i have been getting this for the past year. not only do they offer the $25 box but if you purchase that then you can purchase extras they offer such as different frozen meats (including bacon wrapped fillets), or a 10pk pizza box- they vary. all food is good quality. the only draw back in my opinion is you get too much chicken. but i am still thankful for this program

One of the best deals so far...
I went and pick up my first order yesterday, we even had the chicken fajitas meal last night for dinner...This is the coolest deal so far. No hassle when I went to get my food, and very organized.

Have to Ask
My MIL was very upset to hear my husband had picked up food from this today (our first.) She says that because my huband and I are both employed and make "enough" we are "taking food from those who need it." Any thoughts?

We get this program because it is a good deal. It is never about taking food from people who need it. This is NOT some government handout! You can actually give our church anything you do not want from the box, and it is sent to a food bank. This IS for anyone and everyone! I am tired of people thinking bad about others getting deals. Sorry, I just got over reading about the issues in the Wal-Mart vent post and it is making me angry that people are making snap judgements. No one even knows anyone on here! How petty can we get!
