Ebay Issue
So I bought my son a pair of shorts off Ebay. The shorts had 2 light stains on the back. I was upset because they were listed as "like new." If it had been "used" I would have expected it.
So I emailed the seller and told her about the stain. I didn't hear anything back. So I waited a couple days and left negative feedback. Then right away I get two messages from Ebay. The first is a notice of nonpayment for the shorts. I paid for the shorts using Paypal the day I won the auction. Then I get a message from the seller saying that they will refund all the money I paid if I take back the negative feedback. So heres my issue. First of all it pissed me off about the non payment. They only sent that because I left the negative feedback. Secondly, if I take back the feedback and then they fail to return my money, can I leave negative feedback again, or is a one shot type of thing and once I erase it that's it?? It was only $3. |

I'm not even sure that you CAN erase negative feedback. Never been in that situation to find out.
But, did you file a paypal dispute? If not, do that and tell them the issue and you will get your money back. You may have to send the shorts back, but you will get your money back. Not sure if it's worth all that to you though since it was only $3. Good luck. |

Yea it was an email from Ebay saying the the seller wanted a feedback retraction and then there was a little note from the seller saying that if I retracted the feedback she'd send my money back. I just don't know if I should believe her.

Personally I wouldn't believe her. Sad that we live in a world that a person's word means little to nothing these days. I certainly would dispute the non-payment though. You obviously paid or she wouldn't have sent the shorts in the first place! Also, if you used paypal, wouldn't in be in the history that she was paid?

Yea I sent back a thing to Ebay saying that I had paid through Paypal and the amount and everything. I'm not worried about that, I'm just pissed that she sent that to me. Like she was trying to get back at me for the feedback. I tried emailing her first before I left the feedback. If she would have said that she would refund the money in the first place then I never would have left the neg. feedback.

I would not retract the neg, feedback I would do a dispute. She is obviously not honest or she would not have sold the shorts Like new in the first place. she is telling you she will only send your money back if you take away the negative that she earned. so that she can screw over the next unsuspecting person.

Should I ask her to refund the money first?

I would ask for your money back and agree to what she is saying... but then don't take the neg feedback away... once you take down the feedback you can't do anymore feedback... this persond needs bad feedback... ask for money to return the short... it is not your fault the auction was listed wrong... make sure you get tracking... which is only .18 if you print the label though paypal... you need tracking to protect yourself so paypal/ebay can see you shipped the item back...you can also do a dispute though paypal to get your money back... and I always find calling paypal and telling them what is going on helps. Good luck!
