Space Bags?

I hope this is the right forum.. I apologize if it isn't!
I am looking for tips on homemade space bags. I tried it with trash bags and rubber bands, but it is only working sometimes. Does anyone have any tips on how to do it right?? We need to store some clothing and we have NO room... those space bags are expensive!

I found them at my Goodwill. They aren't "Spacebag" brand, but some other brand. They are the jumbo size. I wil an EXTREMELY large comforter, throw pillows, and shams in one and still had lots of room left. It worked great! They were only $5.93 there. Might be worth a look.

I bought some really good priced Space Bags at Bed Bath & Beyond and I used the 20% off coupons that come in their flyers. I figure its worth the investment otherwise my hubby said I have to get rid of stuff!! (No Way)

I got some of these and others that were not listed. You might call your BB&B and see if they have any on markdown. (They're out of stock online.)

I was at Dollar General today and they had large size ones for $3 and X-large for $3.50.
