Suggestions for Ebay
Hi! I have been selling some stuff on Ebay since the spring mostly stuff a friend wanted to get rid of. Don't get discouraged! I lot of the times people bid at the last minute! I have learned a few things while selling on Ebay. I would have more details about shipping including insurance is available at the buyers expense and that you are not responsible for the item after it leaves your hands.
I only have one thing up right now and it is ending in a couple of hours but if you want to check out my listing and get some ideas you are more than welcome. I am netsnickknacks. Hope this helps!!! ![]() ![]() |

Can you tell if anyone is "watching" your sale? If so, most of them wait until the last minute to bid, especially if they are avid buyers and sellers that know the tricks of the trade.

Hello,
I have over 700 transactions on Ebay. Most recently, I have been getting rid of a lot of baby items. I feel I have learned tons in my last 5 years of Ebaying. It's true, a number of people bid at the last minute. BUT, on the other hand...I have been having poor selling on non-trendy or no-name brand items. Seems like people search for the Brand names (especially on baby items.) I have also listed brand names that aren't very trendy now, and had low selling prices. With outlet stores and good clearance deals, I find that even brand name items are selling lower and lower. Another thing you might want to think about...example: say you sell an item for $2 plus $10 shipping. Would you pay $12 total for the item, used? Perhaps it could be purchased new for $15...and then people might not buy it for such a little discount in savings. Just a thought...and using this rationale has helped save me the costs involved in listing items that probably wouldn't sell well. I sell a number of things on Ebay, but I also BOX & SAVE a number of items that I will sell at our Garage Sale. You just have to know when it's worthwhile... Good luck, and Happy Ebaying! |

Hi. I have done a little bit of ebaying myself, and at first was discouraged like yourself. I had No luck whatso ever. my friend actually encouraged me to try ebay again. She instisted that I pay attention to how I list the item, what catagory, and the title of the item is VERY important... I didnt check your listing before i posted this, but If you are anything like me I didnt pay attention to the title. Put things that will attract the person. Put Search words in the title. That type of things. Also agree with Kutty1101 Price is a big deal. So is the starting bid. I had a saddle that I started at 50.00 People ate it up. But I had one worth alot less that I started 150.00 and I didnt hardly get any watchers and utimately didnt sell the item. Also its the luck of the draw... timing is everything... Good luck and Dont give up...

Keywords are the key in the title so people can find your items in search.
Ebay and affiliates offer presentations too. I am going to a Seller's presentation Friday at a local Hotel. I got 2 free tickets with a notebook set and free dinner included. I will look up the number and post the info so some more new seller's can see if they will be in your area too. I live in a small town so they must go everywhere. RRTGal |
