Membership list by state??? - Page 2

I personally do not think this is a good idea.

I hate that someone may know your city and state but you don't know someone else's. Think about it. There may be a member who doesn't list their place of residence and could be in the next city over from you. They know what you look like from previous photo post, the city you live in and where you like to shop!

That is nothing but scary!!!

The only way someone would be able to find you is if you give them your personal info. If you do a trade on here you would be giving out your personal info...if you get on one of the coupon trains you would be giving out your info. I didn't say anything about giving our your last name, address & phone...just your city & state. Not your bank account info. Don't be so paranoid.

I do NOT want my CITY and STATE posted on an open public forum. Weirdos are among us and paranoid is my middle name!

Like I said it was only from the perspective to help one another find better deals quicker. Not to try & get any personal info. It wasn't to stir up a frenzy.

If people want to choose to add themselves to some sort of state by state or city by city database that is fine (if it would be fine w/Vicky), but to have that information made publicly available (if Vicky even has easy access to that) w/out consent is an invasion of privacy and just wrong. I know a couple people on here who live in the same town I do and w/one of them we have shared some local deals via PM. The only thing that got me in a 'frenzy' is being told not to be so paranoid and it would only be my city and state (or anyone else who doesn't dig it). I could care less if others choose to share their exact location publicly.

I'd love to know who lived near me. I know I seen some new people with Northern KY listed under their name, which is only about 1 1/2 hours from me.

I think it would be fun to have a Vickys get together!!

For those of you who'd like to know of others in your location so you can share area specific deals, have meet-ups or whatever, why not start a social group? I noticed there is a Minnesota Money Savers group to discuss deals and such specific to that area.

I think it's a GREAT idea...as long as it's completely voluntary....which is how I understood the OP to mean.

I agree! I live in such a small town that it would be VERY possible for a weirdo to find me if my city and state were posted. I'm not being paranoid, just protecting my EXTREMELY beautiful children.
