Target Coupon Policy- Print out and carry with you

Dear Julie,

Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping at any Target store, and we make it easy to use them at our stores. But because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target:

-We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued coupons.
-We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
-We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in that case, we'll adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
-We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.

All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of sale.

Have questions or want more information about using coupons at Target? Check with a Guest Services Team Leader at your local store. You can also give us a call at (800) 440-0680, or visit us on Target.com. Either way, we're here to help!

Thanks for shopping with us. We'll see you again soon at Target.

Sincerely,

Joel

Thanks! I printed and will keep in my coupon organizer! I had a problem there 2 weeks ago. I tried to buy 2 of the Johnson Buddies soaps for $0.96 and the cashier wouldn't take it because the coupon was for $1 off. I tried to tell her to just give me the .96 off, but she couldn't seem to understand it, and I had kids to pick up from school, so I couldn't stay and argue!
I did use my coupons last week at a different Target without a problem!

My Target changed how they did this and gives the face value of a manufacturers coupon now. It seems like it would be coupon fraud on their part to only give you what the product it worth and then send it for reimbursement of the full amount.

Well, they are only supposed to send it to the company for what they took off of your order, I think the cashier is supposed to write it on the coupon.
If you had a cashier take off the full value and give you the overage, you got lucky.

I always assumed they just got the full price because they would claim someone bought an item for a higher price. Like, the Buddies, I bet they just show proof that someone bought the shampoo instead of the soap so they cheat us and get full price!
