Green Gift Ideas

I am always looking for Green gift ideas. Any suggestions out there? Of course I am always looking for good prices too.

Today I found Organic Wool Dryer Balls on Ebay made by a SAHM. I ordered 4, so we will see how I like them. They were $7.50/each.

I have been giving the plastic dryer balls as gifts as I love mine. I think the wool ones sound much better. The plastic ones do really cut the drying time of our clothes, but I like the idea of the wool ones better.

I am trying to think of ideas for my NON-Green MIL. Her birthday is coming up soon. I might put together a gift basket???
Currently Needing: Hormel Natural Lunch Meats, Gold N Plump All Natural Chicken, Motts Plus Applesauce, Musselamans Applesauce, Stoneyfield Farms 6 oz yogurt cups, Florida Natural Orange Juice and Alexia product coupons and Kelloggs Movie Tokens.

How about a gift basket with starter green items? Like a green tip book,a few of the new light bulbs, etc. Just a thought. Maybe to show her how easy it is to at least go a little green.

plastic dryer balls - do they really work? do you not have to use dryer sheets? and the ad i saw said they cut drying time by 25%. do you think that's about right?

i think these are a great idea and i want to invest in some. but i'd love feedback first. thanks!

I have noticed a big difference when using the plastic dryer balls, they do cut my drying time down by quite a bit. A can't say if it by 25% or not. I noticed a difference right away. My dryer has the automatic shut off feature. I liked them so much that I started giving them as gifts.

I will let you know how the wools ones are after I try them.

The only negative about the plastic dryer balls is that I think they are hard on more delicate items. One of my daughter's shirts ended up with a hole ( I am about 90% sure the dryer balls were to blame). I have been using mine for a year and they are still working great. Everyone I have given them too seems to like them also. They do make drying your clothes louder, our dryer is in the basement, so it does not bother me. I would imagine the wool ones would be quieter too?

I only use them with my towels because I don't use fabric softener with towels and I like them. I read that you shouldn't use fabric softener with towels because it reduces the absorbancy. I didn't want stiff towels so I tried these. I think that they work well. I don't use them with my clothes since I use fabric softener on those.

I think I bought the "as seen on tv" ones for like $10 for 2.

I had the balls before and liked them. I now use these sheets that can be used 500 times. I don't keep track but I have had them for about 10 months now. I love them. I never buy drier sheets. Here is the link. https://shop.sixwise.com/index.asp?P...ROD&ProdID=142

what about instead of a gift basket...a gift bag using a reusable shopping bag? I love to use them instead of buying gift bags and typically can cost as little as 99 cents and up.
