Great shopping day!!!!!
Today was the consigner presale at the big children's consignment sale, so DH and I were there as soon as doors opened. We found a dresser and changing table (which actually looks like a dresser) in dark cherry wood for $200 total. As we were standing in line to check out, the people consigning the items found us and told us they had the matching crib which was a convertible cherry sleigh and couldn't fit it into their truck yesterday when they were bringing items to the sale and wouldn't be available to being it to the restock day (Monday), so if we followed them to their house, we could have it for free. We did, so now I have all my baby furniture.
Prior to the doors of the consignment sale opening, we stopped by Toys R Us to check out their baby stuff since we were looking for a infant carrier carseat since I'd gotten a stroller at a different consignment sale last week for super cheap. We found a Graco travel system in the colors I wanted on clearance for $167.99 and the manager asked me if we had something to trade in for another 20% off. After trading in our 7 yr old carseat from Mikayla, we paid $140, including 9.5% sales tax. This is the one we got: Graco Quattro Tour Travel System Stroller - Nouvelle - Graco - Babies "R" Us Now, I'm gonna resell the stroller I got last week at the consignment sale happening on 10/1. I've now got all the big baby items needed for baby at first, except for a crib mattress, but that's not too super expensive. I'm borrowing a swing from a friend (unless I come across one for next to nothing) and I'll get the high chair and exersaucer after baby is born at the spring consignment sales. I've also got one convertible carseat already and will pick up another one after baby is born and gets close to outgrowing the infant carrier. Then we went to Target. For $42.70 (which includes 8.25% sales tax), I got: 1) Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive Jumbo pack 3) Huggies Snug & Dry Jumbo packs 1) Huggies 216ct wipes 1) Desitin 4oz 1) 5 pack Gerber onsies 1) 28oz can powder Enfamil formula 2) Nuk 9oz bottles 1) Nuk 2pk pacifier 2) Chef Michael dog food cans 1) Chef Michael dry dog food I saved $48.48 in coupons & Team Member discount (my dad's) plus another $15 in Enfamil formula checks. And I'll get $.75 back from Caregivers Marketplace for each of the packs of Huggies diapers. Love days like this! |
