clueless with coupons!

Ok, I had someone tell me all about this site yesterday and i need all the help I can get. We are cutting way back on bills (jobs on the chopping block) and I even cancelled the newspaper. BUT, I can easily get my hands on one to save more money if needed. I just need help figuring out how to work this system. Please HELP me!!!

First off,

to the site. Browse around the different forums. Mainly, get a stash of coupons any way possible (ie. sunday paper, ALL YOU magazine sold at Walmart...etc) and match the coupons with your stores sales. That = cheap groceries. Any specific questions, you can feel free to ask me or many of the other ladies here will be eager to help.

Recently I have been emailing companies and complimenting them on their items. I have received free coupons for Ziploc, OFF!, Flinstone Vitamins (up to $15), and Glade spray. Check out the post about this, Companies to Contact List.

Also, you can trade for coupons. What types of coupons will you need the most?

Welcome Kelly! If there is a dollar store near you it may be possible to pick up the Sunday paper for ...$1!
LOL, Well I was one of the people who actually asked the guy "How much is this?" as some $1 stores are a dollar more or less stores now! LOL
In our area it would save about $1.50 as the Sunday paper is $2.50 straight up, unless you buy it cheaper at Walmart $1.75 Hope this helps

I still find this system hard to figure out what I do next. I use to rebate very heavy. I use to file all my empty packaging etc. When I moved I put an add in the newspaper and sold my laundry bottles $1 a trash bag. Now days you have to have a dated sales slip. I have been searching the net for coupons and have come up pretty empty with a lot of time spent searching. I will try the Dollar store for a newspaper. Our local paper just does not have hardly any coupons in it. However, the Indianapolis newspaper has a lot so I hope I will be able to find it at the Dollar Store.

Also I like the idea of sending emails to the companies. I used to write them letters and often compare their product with another and they would send me coupons.

How do I increase the money saved? How does it track it? How do I get to the coupons? Is it only the sites at the beginning? I have gone to those with just a Google Search and each one wants all my information.

If you're near a TARGET...keep in mind they allow you to pair a "Store Coupon" with a MFG Coupon. Example:

Hello Kitty Bandaid:

Price $1.89 for a box
MFG Coupon=$1.00
TARGET Coupon=$1.00
OOP (Out of pocket)=FREE

I have done things like this a lot at TARGET!

Also make your "ISO" list (In Search Of) Each post you do it will appear down at the bottom & we can see what you're looking for & you can see what we are & offer a trade & or your can offer one of us a trade.

I am so sorry to be such a novice but what is the acromyn PM mean. I noticed the post I wanted to respond to did not have a response tab. I had to go to the second one.

I can use coupons for liquid creamers and olive oil. Lets start there, I use them the most. I did find a site on the internet where I found some International Creamer coupons a while back. I think it might have been the Kraft food site.

vocal point is a site that gives you weekly meal planner. Then when you go to the recipes it will give you sites within the recipe directions for coupons. I like that site!
