Combining Store Coupons?

We made a pretty amazing discovery a couple of nights ago and replicated it successfully. Normally Walgreens puts out Store Coupons in it's weekly circular/ad
on a weekly basis. However through an act of curiousity we were able to scan additional walgreens coupons for the same item in the same transaction.

The following is an example of what was done:

Claritin Liquigels 24 count

Normally $29.99

This months Megasaver has it on sale for $19.99

Coupon from the Healthy Savings book for $3.00 off

In addition we added the Store Coupon from the Ad for $4.00 off

The shock is it took off both store coupons that knocked the cost down
to 12.99

Adding to this was a $6.00 coupon from a previous Sunday paper
brought it down to $6.99

(Keep in mind this was a transaction from last weeks ad)

I think the point to take away from this is the fact that (2) TWO
store coupons were used on the same item in the same transaction.

AND it was replicated successfully, makes you wonder what else it will
work on. Will try out a few more transactions using multiple store coupons on the same item to see if it in fact was not a glitch. If it wasn't I think a new
way to save has just been stumbled upon. Will post more on testing
as it goes on....

discuss/thoughts?

Yes, this will work. As in the case about a year ago with the free walgreen diapers. There was a coupon in one flyer and another in a different flyer, making the diapers free. Until Walgreens caught on and put a stop to it.

Personal then I think they would make their computers not take them both.

The instruction we were given on BOGO coupons being used on BOGO sale items is as follows:

Pay for 1 item Get 1 Free
Pay for 1 item with BOGO coupon Get 1 Free

End result OOP Pay for 1 Get 3 free

They ask that customers pay for at least one of the items in that type of transaction.

Keep in mind that is the general standard. Some stores set their own 'policy' where coupons are concerned (coorporate stance is we accept coupons as long as they are within dates and limitations stated on the coupon), and you might get lucky sometimes with a cashier who will take a BOGO coupon on a BOGO item without making you purchase additional items (in this instance you literally would pay nothing out of pocket claiming both items for free)

Remember that retailers not only get reimbursed for the value of the coupon if you read carefully some companies will actually pay the retailer an additional 8 cents just for accepting the coupon from a consumer.
Although before being redeemed coupons yield no face value for the consumer they are a viable source of tender for retailers due to the amount of money involved on a wide scale.
Please note that due to space limitations all advertisement related
imagery is deleted after 2 weeks have passed.
