$1 West Soy and 3/$1 Snapple at Dollar Tree
I made my first trip to a Dollar Tree.
They had West Soy for $1, it seems like a great price as the containers were pretty large. Snapple 100% juice drinks in cans 3/$1. My kids loved the fruit punch flavor so I sent back and purchased all the cans they had left. The checkout person said it was the first time their store had sold these Snapple beverages. |

We have the Dollar Tree here but do you think that a quality at DT is the same as at regular stores? I've never bought any food there so I'm not sure

That was my first trip ever, but from what I can tell, they carry namebrand items at reduced rates in small quantities. They also sell cheaper off brands too. I can't imagine the namebrand items are any different, they look exactly like what I purchase at the grocery store????? I think you just want to check the expiration dates. I purchased Wolfgang Puck soup for $1/can. The date was mid October. The Frito Lay products I purchased also had expiration dates of mid October. |

I love Dollar Tree.
The food at Dollar Tree is hit or miss. You have to try things to see if you like them. My Dollar Tree recently started selling beef jerky and I bought a couple of bags for Brian to try since he eats it when he's working on a train. He said the jerky was actually pretty good. I've also bought Tums QuickPaks there recently (expiration was April 2010). I've also recently bought Dry Idea Clinical Strength deodorant and Theraflu cold products (the thin strips and the liquid medicine). I've bought the soy milk as well. It is a name brand -- West Soy can be bought at Kroger in my area. However, they sell out quickly in my area. I recently got a Sam's Club membership and have been buying Seth's soy milk there. I get three half gallon containers for a little over $6 for the Silk brand of soy milk. I was paying $1 for a quart of soy milk, so buying the milk at Sam's Club really doesn't cost me much more. I have two Dollar Trees in my area. One is near my house (literally 2 minutes away) and the other is in the northern end of town. The one near my house has a decent food section, but the other one in the northern end of town has a GREAT food section and even carries some frozen foods like frozen fruits and veggies, Luigi's Italian Ice, Snapps products, and Tony's Pizzas. |
