Old Navy--extra 30% off clearance

I was in Old Navy today and they have 30% off all their clearance. I got a couple of t-shirts for like $2 a piece. The signs didn't say how long it would be going on.

If you have a Mervyn's card and show it to the cashier, you can earn an extra 20% off the clearance prices (on top of the 30%)...so you'll get a total of 40% off of the lowest listed clearance price. I got two long sleeve shirts and a pair of sweatpants for my 4 year old today and the total was $10.xx.

Mervyn's is the name of a retail store. They have filed for bankruptcy and are closing their chains. It appears that Old Navy wants to lure some former Mervyn's shoppers and further build their customer base. That's why they are offering the additional discount.
